The Interviews 2

MUAH:Brandee Lee

I love doing interviews and its hard work editing.Coming up with random questions is not easy,I have to do research and look though the girls profiles. What I say to the girls is,I know this site is not much right now but the word of mouth will get it going.I have Pinup Kittens promoting me and bringing models for me to interview, they are the only site that I model for is promoting me and posting bulletins for me.It kinda bum me out that other sites I model for don't promote my work as much and I'm there for them when they want me to promote or show up at an event thats over 80 miles away from me,I understand that some of them might be busy or have no interest in being interview or might think my page is stupid. It would be nice if they take two mins and promote me.I'm having issues promoting this page on myspace cause it calms to be a spammer page and its not.I emailed customer service of myspace telling them my page is not spam and explained to them that I interview models and use the page for good.I'm not trying to take peoples money and what not. They wrote back to me saying I know you're not one of those sites on blogger that scam people but they have to block everything from blogger to keep them from coming in.I understand myspace cares about our saftey but is frustrating that I can't send the link to the girls I interview and thats probably why I'm not getting followers. One to the interviews!Every girl I interview I try to make sure that I sent them the right questions that I want to be answered. This time I forgot to ask Luna one of the questions I ask everyone,I laughed about it and turn it into a mini contest to see if anyone could figure it out, most of my friends knew the answer and they said we will let the fans get a signed print lol.Yeah if you a fan you can still send the question I forgot to ask:)Things been hard for me lately and I didn't promote this page as much.My car needs to get fix and it will cost around 1300 and I'm still paying for the car, then I have friends that are starting to be jealous of my modeling and some are not happy for me that I'm getting my name out there. If you google or yahoo me you will find a couple of sites that I'm on as a model or feature, then you can find some images too.Yeah I don't really talk about my modeling with my friends to prevent this from happening, the thing is they add my modeling page on myspace and thats the page where I can talk about my modeling. They see that I'm getting my name around and have a few connections.Theres nothing to be jealous about,if I can do it so can anybody,I encourage you not discourage. All of this didn't happen over night it took two years to build up and it might take longer to hit mainstream.Theres no money in pinup and its hard to find people who are willing to pay you for the work.Thats why most pinup models work another job due to the fact theres not much money, the economy hit the industry too and all you can get is trade work.So yeah nothing to be jealous about and I got only over 800 friends not 3,000 like the other pinups. To be honest I thought about quiting modeling a few times and I find ways to stay strong and not quit.My former best friend basically told me that it will be a shame if I quit and I should stick with it,once our friendship ended it made me push harder for my career and to make him proud of me.he still looks at sites I model for and I know hes around but won't say a word to me.If i quit modeling now I'm letting my friends win and think they can bring me down.Surprisingly my family supports what I do,I thought it will be the other way around but I rather have support from family anytime.I know they want me to make money off this so I can quit my job.Yeah I love what I do and I knew what I was getting myself into before I started modeling. For the ones that support me thank you and for the haters get off your ass and get what you want!!If you listen to the song #1 is number two by the soviettes the song is basically talking about once you reach the top and theres people that try to bring you down.Watch out for new interviews and if you want to be interviewed let me know!!

Hey welcome to the page? Hello Brandee Lee! Thanks for having me-you know you're one of my favorites!

How are you today? Just grand!

How did you get into modeling? Loaded question. I posed in cemeteries as a teen. During that time, I met someone who took advantage of me & I ended up posing nude & sending my photos in to magazines to impress him. I was in over 200 magazines. Perhaps I was lucky there was no internet then, or I'd have given myself away for free like so many people do now. Had I not met that man, I'd never have posed nude, just stuck with alternative. I have done magazines that weren't porn, local tv & radio appearances, conventions. Craiglist is your friend. Put yourself out there-you will get noticed.

How do feel about today's models such as alternative and glamour models? They are an inspiration! Twenty some years ago, it was all too perfect. That knocked alot of models out of the game who had so much to offer. Much more interesting now.

Do you have a secret you would like to share? Self-portraits are fun-give it a try. Put on your favorite music for the best mood.

I know you have pet rats and you love them to death,I know I can get you into some trouble. If you had to choose between your husband and rats...Which would you choose? You can always get another husband, but rats are forever!

The majority of your photos were taken by a self timer and i prefer photographers to take pictures of me.What inspire the idea to do self portraits instead of working with a photographer every photo shoot? I never intended to model. Photostyling was more my thing. But when I was 16, my friends didn't like posing in cemeteries, so I had to do it myself. Some photographers are great & can bring out your best. I get annoyed with others who won't shut up or come on to you. In the end, it's about artistic control.

Is there other activites you do besides modeling? I do live in the World Of Rats. And I collect used gift cards.

Thank you for letting me interview you, before we end the interview,is there anything you would like to say or promote? It's been fun! I have a self-published book out called Dream Pets. It's a collection of photos taken of me & model Michelle Jankowiak. Check it out:

Hey Welcome to my page!!Thanks! I'm excited to meet you :)

How are you today?I'm great! Just relaxing after last night's show!

How did you get into modeling?I randomly did a little in college when a magazine I was interning for made me model for an ad they were putting together, and then didn't do any again until a few years ago! A photographer friend of mine asked me to participate in a shoot she was doing, and I realized how much I loved it and pursued it from there!

how do you feel about today's models?I really like how multi-faceted the modeling community has become, and now you see so many different types of models! I love that there are so many different beautiful women out there that have the confidence to go out and find their modeling niche!

You are with the black widow burlesque and I'm a huge fan of burlesque,I've been wanting to do it but don't know where to start. Do you have any advice for girls that want to do it and how to get started? The best place to start is by just doing it! Check out some videos on youtube, and try putting together your own routine! Rehearse rehearse rehearse! Then you can look around and see if there are any troupes in your area that are auditioning, or start your own! The most important part is confidence, because if you're having fun then the audience will too!

Do you have a secret you would like to share?Hrmm......I'm a pretty mega sci-fi geek. Whether it be literature or television, I can't get enough of it! I've even been re-watching all of the old Highlander series on Hulu!

What are your top 5 bands?Aww! This is always such a hard question for me because I feel like it totally changes depending on my mood! But I'll try anyway :) Tenacious D, Ween, Kidney Thieves, NIN, Queen...ok! I think that's a good representation!!!!

You and I are both heavy set pinup models on pinup kittens.Sometime I have trouble finding work and sites to model for due to the fact I don't look like those really skinny models.its nice seeing other plus size pinups and alternative models on sites,it shows that parts of the industry is not comsume by thin is "beautiful".There are times when I was told that I couldn't be a model due to the fact I'm not skinny or fit. What would you like to say to women who thinks they can't be a model due to the fact they don't like fashion models and don't feel beautiful about themselves?**WARNING** Getting on my soapbox!!!This question always makes me giggle a little because I think it says more about other people than me and my experience! I've never really had a problem getting into modeling because I go forth with confidence! I don't look at myself as 'heavyset' or 'plus size,' especially in the pinup world! Many of the original punups such as Marilyn Monroe were what today would call 'plus-size!' I feel very proportionate and think that I just represent a different bodytype. I don't promote myself as a plus-sized model, and avoid being promoted as such because I think it implies that my body type is overweight or unhealthy. I in fact work out daily, am stronger than most of my friends, and look damn fine in my skivvies!!! I am currently a corset model for a local store, www.secretoktober.com, as well as the spokesmodel for Emily Clay corsets, and neither of these are because of or in spite of my size! That being said, I do think it's important as a model to find your niche. Obviously I'm not going to go and pop up on a traditional high fashion runway; I work towards what fits my bodytype, and if I don't find room in a niche I like, I create a new one! Never be afraid to go to a photographer with your own concepts and ideas! Your attitude is always the most important part of modeling! I will also say that it bothers me when people villify thin models or say they're not real women. We're ALL real women! I think the most important part is for everyone to embrace the diverse bodies out there, and always have confidence in your own!*** Soapbox off***

Is there other activites you do besides modeling and burlesque? My 'dayjob' is as a makeup and hair artist! I do everything from film and television to photographic and stage work! You can check out my website at www.wendymichellesanders.com

Thank you for letting me interview you. Before we end this interview,is there something you would like to say or promote?Hmmm...think I just did above! But I guess I'd love to put more out there about my wonderful burlesque troupe! Go check out me and my ladies at www.myspace.com/blackwidowburlesque !!!Thanks for having me :)

How did you get into modeling?Photography runs in my family by that I mean we love to take pictures so I sort of just fell into it. I googled to see if there were modeling pages like myspace and I came across ModelMayhem and I joined thus began my modeling career.

How do you feel about today's models such as pinups?Pinup models like Sabina Kelley and Heidi VanHorn and few others I just adore I think they are gorgeous.Pin-ups are great as you can look and display sex appeal with all your clothes on.I mean nudity is hott too but being pin-up is turning heads and making guys drool and not by how much clothes you take off to become sexy.

How many tattoos you have and what they mean to you?15 and plan to get more..They mean alot to me as they display my likes and interests or things I just thought would look great as art in skin,I mean how long do you live in house before you decide to redecorate it? same goes for the body.I have 2 that I got for my cousin when he passed away in 2005.

Your a mommy to your beautiful baby girl Addison Rose, how do you balance modeling and being a mom?It gets difficult at times but I thankfully have a loving family that helps me out when I need it.I mainly put my child first and work around her schedule.

Do you have a secret you would like to share?I absolutely love the smell of a garage where men have been working on cars

You and I are on pinup kittens together, what do you like about pinup kittens and how did it boost your modeling career? It is a great place for me to network and peek at the other girls and get ideas. It helped me out by putting me somewhere else so others can see me and find me and network with me as well.

The Interviews

MUAH:Tankia Thomas and Brandee Lee

I know some of you are wondering why I'm interviewing models and started a page called the brandee lee show.I've always wanted to interview models and bands since I started modeling.Back in October I got my chance to interview people at an event called Archon, ever since I been wanting to interview models and bands in the industry.I thought of ideas and what questions to ask,the name for my blog came out of the blue.I couldn't think of a name and I thought the brandee lee show and I said there I got a name.I didn't know where I'm going to put my interviews I remember I was talking with my boss about blogger cause he have a sports page on here, then I said to myself maybe blogger can work for me.Its better than having to manage more accounts on myspace and facebook. So I created the brandee lee show on blogger and I start posting bulletins on myspace and wrote stuff on facebook(modeling page) seeing if anyone is interested in being interviewed by me.Then I've sent messages to models that I'm friends with and worked with. Then the sites I model for posted a bulletin for me and I got over 5 girls interested.I got 3 interviews and it was fun reading their response to my questions.Right now I got two followers and I hope to get more in a month. On to my out takes, theres a rotating question I wanted to create for the models and it didn't work out so I had to take the question out of the interviews,I don't want to reveal the question cause I don't want anyone to steal my idea.I might bring it back when things are rolling and I get a lot of girls or boys.I want to be more than just a "model",I like doing behind the scenes work and helping photographers with shoots then take pictures later.when I get the money,I'm going to buy a camera and start doing interviews face to face or if someone let me borrow one to do an interview for an hour, then I find someone to help me edit:)All you readers do is spread the word for me and i might go far with the brandee lee show.
ONE MORE THING!!VOTE FOR BRITNEE LEIGH!!SEND AN EMAIL TO THIS ADDRESS AND SAY I VOTE FOR BRITNEE LEIGHvixenvotes@dennis.co.uk

If you're interested in being interviewed!!

Here are my guidelines and rules they are easy.I didn't have a problem with the 3 models that wrote me,I want to make things clear before boys and girls send in pics and want to be on here.Yes,I'll accept male models too.Number 1!!! I like classy and tasteful pictures,I don't mind nudes and implied nudes but I want this page to be PG-13 and I want my niece and nephews to be able to look at the page while I'm editing or what not and my family might look at this page.Number 2!!! I looove lingerie please no thongs!I don't mind boy shorts like I said no thongs, keep it clean,if its retro, bettie page style,or whatever is tasteful thats fine by me.Number 3!!!this to the alt, goth and industrial. when you send in pics make sure the bondage is bettie page style or light,I get squeamish when I see blood and gore,I don't mind if you submit them in but keep it toned down, I LOVE THE KNIFES AND BRASS KNUCKLES too, please don't make it too violent and no harm to yourself.Yeah send the blood and gore over and remember light blood and violence is ok,if your unsure send the pics anyways and I'll let you know. One more thing ,i will allow booze bottles in pics but not drug use.Number 4!!!Transgender models are welcome and you must be a good looking guy or doll,I love the gay/lesbian community too, feel free to apply. If you guys got A PROBLEM WITH IT DON'T FOLLOW OR MESSAGE ME!!Number 5!!!Please have some common sense and show respect to the models and whoever on this page. If you want to submit pictures after all of my strict rules send them to my page on myspace at www.myspace.com/brandeeleemodelingpage or brandeelee@ymail.com. SEND 3 GOOD QUALITY PICTURES AND SELF PORTRAITS ARE OK BUT NO ARMS OUT ETC.MAKE SURE YOU SEND INFO ON WHO TOOK THE PICTURES AND WHO DID HAIR AND MAKE UP TO GIVE THEM CREDIT TO AVOID A FEW PROBLEMS,MAKE SURE IF THEY ARE OK WITH YOU USING THE PICTURES.

Hey welcome to my page!!!!thank you!it's a honor for me

How are you today?I am doing okay :)

How did you get into modeling?I was actually approached by a photographer who happened to do photo shoots for the CALI clothing company CHICANA WEAR about modeling for the clothing line i was told i would be perfect to rep the clothing line

How do you feel about today's models?I feel that every women is beautiful in her own way,but i do got to be honest and say i feel that there is a lot of neglect when it comes to more natural looking models.I am all about keeping it real and unique i love my mexican roots and i want to show it in all my work.I love my skin color,my hair color,my eyes, not to mention the full hips and lips god blessed me with lol I do not try to change my natural features such as eye color ,hair color ect.also do I feel a need for models to be a certain size to be more successful.I do not think it is right that a lot of girls get treated differently or photographers refuse to shoot them because they do not fit their idea of what a women is supposed to look like.My goal is to show that in my work let me remind you we are all women REAL WOMEN!created to be different to be unique!also i feel that a model does not have to show too much to look beautiful RESPECT is more important to me.

who is your role model?FRIDA KAHLO,SELENA and all women who stand up for who they are and what they believe in!

Do you have a secret you want to share?just keep it real be yourself never try to change or be someone you are not...only do what you feel comfortable doing.have fun!never give up your dreams even tho it may be difficult and you hit a lot of hard times the key is to be strong keep pushing all your hard work will pay off
If you can bring someone back from the dead, who would it be?SELENA...she was a great role model and extremely talented. That is really hard to find in celebrities today.also as being chicana she made more proud of who I am,a great example for me being a women being chicana and making her dreams come true.

I'm a huge music fan and I love listening to psychobilly and punk. What are your faves?I love music all types from spanish, pop, funk you name it!!Anything that i can dance to.I also love old music alot i love oldies :)

I see you have a clothing line AZ OG Clothing,I had thoughts about having a clothing line but plans fell through. How did you get started and do you have any advise for someone who wants to start a clothing line.It was always a dream of mine to have my own clothing line since i was little. It can be difficult...it first starts with the mind you know how you want things to look you get it on paper, then you find people who know how to produce your ideas on clothing. It's alot of time and money, blood sweat and tears, but if that's really what you want to do your dream it's all worth it.

Thank you for letting me interview you,is there anything you would like to promote before we go?say hello to everyone and thanks for the time :) please be on the look out for my new chicana inspired clothing line coming out in 2010 thank you much love!
